Partnership with effect - aluminium wire and non-porous weld seams
Non-porosity is the key to resilient, standard-compliant aluminium joints - especially in safety-relevant applications. In the joint presentation by Gutmann Aluminium Draht and MIGAL.CO, we will show how the combination of process-stable aluminium wire and in-depth seam analysis leads to reproducible low-porosity to non-porous welded joints.
MIGAL.CO offers a wide range of analysis and monitoring options that go far beyond the usual market standards - from continuous wire feed and process monitoring to detailed analyses of welding parameters. This makes it possible to systematically identify the causes of porosity, optimise process windows and derive customer-specific solutions.
Practical examples from the automotive, e-mobility and lightweight construction sectors will be used to show how this combination of high-quality wire, intelligent wire feed technology and specialised analysis helps to avoid pores, reduce rejects and ensure weld seam quality in the long term. The aim is a clearly structured procedure that enables users to raise their joining technology to a new level of safety and process reliability.
Procedure
- 60-minute keynote speech & practical discussion: basics of pore formation, influence of wire quality and wire feeding on process stability, analysis and monitoring options of MIGAL.CO. Practical examples from automotive, e-mobility and lightweight construction.

High-performance aluminium for better and more sustainable products
Our claim is clear: high-performance aluminium - for wire, extrusion and additive manufacturing. With our lightweight materials based on AlMg-11 - in particular our AlMgty wire - we create solutions for applications where conventional aluminium alloys reach their limits. The focus is on combining mechanical performance, corrosion resistance and sustainability over the entire life cycle.
Some advantages:
- Higher mechanical performance
- Improved corrosion resistance
- One alloy - many possible applications
- High recycling potential
With the MaterialsX enterprise platform, we are transferring this value proposition to the digital world and enabling AI-supported end-to-end material development for industrial applications.
Procedure
- 15-minute impulse: Overview of AlMg-11 lightweight materials, AlMgty wire and typical high-performance applications.
- 30-minute in-depth session: material and process examples, performance & sustainability benefits, Q&A.

Aluminium - The smart material change
A compact impulse shows where aluminium is technically, economically and ecologically convincing as a substitute material - and where the limits lie. We structure decisions along key criteria (performance, costs/TCO, CO2, availability), address design and joining technology, contact corrosion in multi-materials as well as approval and quality. We then analyse specific use cases of the participants together, evaluate opportunities/risks and derive the next steps.
Procedure
- 15-minute impulse: Overview of substitution fields, decision logic, practical examples.
- 45-minute analysis & discussion: Participant case studies, apply assessment framework, identify hurdles, prioritise solutions.
